Ok, so for those of you who have asked me......the below picture is my newest tatto, and despite what some may think it has VERY special meaning to me. A good friend of mine has poked some fun at this tattoo and the words "You need help for your Depp addiction" have come up. The other thing is that the bird in the tatto is NOT a dove...it is a sparrow....that bears some resembalnce to a dove hee hee. Here are my reasons behind the tattoo:
1.) My grandad was a navy man during world war II. He was stationed on a ship off the coast of England. Sparrows, and swallows are one of the symbols for the "sea", and I love the bird. I love my grandad very much, and he has had some hard times latley, and has undergone a lot of surgery. I wanted to remember all the wonderful things he has done for me over the years, and what better way to do it then a permanent tribute.
2.) Yes, the tattoo has a reference to Johnny Depp, but not in the way that many people think. It is a tribute to the infamous Jack Sparrow. I love the character so much, and even at one point thought about putting a full size Jack Sparrow on my back. But I didn't. Johnny Depp has brought so many characters to life, and he has brightened the lives of so many with his latest persona Jack Sparrow. I love everything pirates, and Johnny has a way of bringing out the best in me. So that is reference #2 to the tattoo.
So here it is...one hour after being tattooed! It's still a bit red and swollen, but it is on the mend!

Doc! That is sooooo cool!! I love it!!!! I want a tattoo, but am soooo scared of the pain factor!!!! How bad was the pain?
I love it Doc!
Very nice. I went with someone else to get a tatoo once (ended up with my own) but she backed out! It did hurt a lot, but tickled too it's behind my right ear!
Are you in pain Vicky?
Minxie -
It wasn't that bad until he got the flag part. That hurt a little, but as soon as he was done...it went away. I just read a magazine as he was doing it to take my mind off the little bit of pain.
Shak- What did you get for your tattoo? I'm not in pain anymore. I actually had this tattoo done the day I met JD in Columbus....so it's been a couple of weeks.
Thanks for the compliments!

A tiny little broken heart with a few tinier little tear drops (drops of blood?) now that I think about it eyes cry, not hearts... duh!
I like it! And now I like the sparrows that kicked my bluebirds out even more!
Hey Vicky it was soooo nice meeting you tonight. I just wished I knew it was you a little earlier in the evening!!!
I got Josh and gift certificate to a tatoo place in Madison for his birthday. He's gonna get a tatoo of our daughter Katlyn's footprints on his arm then her delivery date and then the last line of the poem footprints under that. "It was then that you carried me"
